Paul Townsend Tribute

Paul B. Townsend
1920-2005
Editor Emeritus, Long Island Business News

On November 2, 2000, 400 of Paul Townsend’s friends and admirers gathered at the Crest Hollow Country Club to pay special tribute to the former editor and publisher of Long Island Business News.

The newspaper was established in 1953 as the Long Island Commercial Review and was a daily business newspaper for five years in the 1960s before returning to weekly status. Paul and his wife and partner, Terri, sold the newspaper to Dolan Media Company of Minneapolis in May 1998.

Listed Below are links to the special edition newspaper prepared for the evening, as well as two obituaries, a person tribute to my mentor Paul B. Townsend, and the Newsday Long Islander of the Century Article dedicated to Paul.
